Olivia Callender
Olivia Callender is an artist and graduate of SUNY Purchase where she received a BA in 2011 for MSA (media society & the arts) and photography studies.

Her work in progress "The Bi&Multi: Race Identity and The Influence of Media" was nominated to be featured at The Passage Gallery in May of 2011. Her book "The Objective Life" was chosen by judges of Photography Book Now 2011 for the Peoples Choice Awards.

Olivia is interested in levels of control in the photographic image making process. Her style varies from objective documentary to highly staged replications of hyper reality. Sociology, memory, race, and the language of visual symbols are all themes that she explores through her work.
