The Bi&Multi project is a two part sociological study on race and the American media's influence on race identity. I am interested in gathering the opinions of Biracials and Multiracials because of the historical lack of recognition in mainstream media. I believe their insight may shed light on the current race and media trends, as well as possible connections between media, race relations and racial identity in America.
Informal interviews are conducted and recorded by video then transcribed. Photographs are created as a collaboration between subject and photographer. Subjects create characters and scenes based on their perception of how media represents their "mono-races". Location, theme, and styling are controlled completely by subjects.
Current Project. Applicants welcome. Please contact for more information.
